Please see the below list for some resources that can help your household pay for necessary expenses. Click the links to find the applications!

Seniors Care Grant: Apply for help with household costs: Seniors Care Grant - Government of Nova Scotia<https://beta.novascotia.ca/apply-help-household-costs-seniors-care-grant>
Recipients can receive up to $500 to help with household services (snow removal, grocery delivery, transportation, etc.).

To be eligible you must be 65 or older in 2021, have a net household income of $37,500 or less, have a lease or a house, and have paid for household services between 01/01/2021 and 11/30/2021.

Salvation Army HEAT Fund: The HEAT Fund - Maritime Division (salvationarmy.ca)<https://salvationarmy.ca/maritime/home/programs/heat/>
Recipients can receive up to $400 for an emergency heating situation.

To be eligible you must live in Nova Scotia and fit within the following low-income threshold:
$29,000 for a one-person household
$47,703 for a two – four person household
$67,937 for a household of five or more individuals

Salvation Army COVID Relief Fund: COVID Relief Fund - Maritime Division (salvationarmy.ca)<https://salvationarmy.ca/maritime/home/programs/covidrelief/>
Recipients can receive up to $400 for home heating or electricity costs.

To be eligible for this program you must live in Nova Scotia, have an overdue amount owing for your bill, have been financially impacted due to COVID-19, and live within the following low-income thresholds:
$29,000 for a one-person household
$47,703 for a two – four person household
$67,937 for a household of five or more individuals

Heating Assistance Rebate: Apply for a heating assistance rebate: Heating Assistance Rebate Program - Government of Nova Scotia<https://beta.novascotia.ca/apply-heating-assistance-rebate-heating-assistance-rebate-program>
Recipients can receive up to $200.

To be eligible you must pay for your own heating and meet one of the following criteria: have a net income of $29,000 of less and live alone, have a combined net income of $44,000 or less and live with kids, dependents, or other adults, receive Income Assistance from DCS, or receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement or the Allowance from Service Canada.

Deadline for this program is MARCH 31st 2022!

Free Tax Clinic

To be eligible for this program you must be within the following low-income thresholds:
$35,000 for a one person family
$45,000 for a two person family
$47,000 for a three person family
$50,000 for a four person family
$52,000 for a five person family
$52,000 + $2,500 for each additional family member for families of over five people
